Hilo Termite Control Prices: How Much Does Termite Control in Hilo Cost?

March 6, 2013 by admin

IMG_0050One of the first questions that you may be asking yourself when you are looking for a company to take care of your home’s termite infestation is how much is termite control going to cost. Here in Hilo we have a number of termite control companies, but getting prices from them takes a lot of legwork. You will find that many companies in Hilo do not place prices on their websites and many don’t even have websites at all, so you are going to have to crack open the trusty HawaiianTel yellow pages and start dialing.

A lot of variables go into a quote for your home. The size and age of your house, the number of stories high it is and the extent of the infestation are all important factors in determining the rate that you will pay for tenting and other forms of termite control. This article will try to give you an idea of what you should expect to pay for termite control with those caveats in mind.

Termite Tenting or Fumigation Costs in Hilo

In Hilo, tenting or fumigation is one of the most frequently used types of termite control and it doesn’t come cheap. The cost of tenting depends on primarily on the volume or cubic feet of your house. The bigger your house is, the more it’s going to cost. Also you need to keep in mind that it is harder to tent a two story house than a single level house, so if your house is two stories it is going to cost more.

Typically a 1,300 square foot host will cost between $1,300 and $2,500 for tenting and lethal gas fumigation. And if you are fortunate enough to own a larger 2,500 square foot house, you can expect to pay $2,300 to $4,000.

When your home is tented you should expect that it will take 5 days and all pets, including fish, need to be cleared out of your home, so you will need to ensure that you and your keiki have a place to stay.

Hilo Chemical Termite Extermination Prices

The price of chemical extermination for subterranean termites is easy to calculate. It is based on linear feet. All you do is measure the perimeter of your home and multiply by the rate that the pest control company is going to charge. Typically a 1,300 square foot home is about 160 linear feet. A home of this size will end up costing approximately $1,300 to $2,600 depending on the company that you call. While a larger 2,500 square foot home will probably cost you $2,000 to $3,400.

What is good about chemical extermination is that you usually will not have to leave your home while work is done, like you would if your house was being tented. Usually the termite control company will drill holes around the edge of your home and inject liquid chemicals or install termite bait.

Scientists have discovered the master switch to pain. It is cranked up to 10 in Pam Costa and she feels “man on fire” levels of pain constantly. It is switched off in Steve Pete and he can’t even feel it when he breaks a bone.
